Shaun Kearney was born in Whiston, a small town of northern England. He graduated from the University of Northumbria in 1996 with a first class Honors B.A. in Fashion. During his time at University, Shaun scooped up seven top International young designer fashion awards including the top prize for the 1995 GIFU World fashion student contest in Japan.

Soon after graduating Shaun moved to New York City (with a two year stint in Italy) and has held executive leading design roles for some of the biggest fashion labels in the industry; Kenneth Cole New York, Laundry by Shelli Segal, Maxmara and Randolph Duke where he dressed celebrities including Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Winona Ryder, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson.

Shaun was named Executive Vice President of Design and Creative Director of Cynthia Steffe in early 2008 soon after Cynthia had departed her label. Since then, he has embraced and modernized the brand, creating a look that is sweetly sophisticated with an edge.

Since making his runway debut for Cynthia Steffe with the Spring 2009 collection, Shaun has garnered strong reviews from buyers, press and celebrities Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway, Alexa Chung, Emma Stone, Ciara,  Emma Roberts, Keri Hilson, Blake Lively, Diane Kruger, Kirsten Dunst and Tina Fey have all worn the clothes.

Shaun draw’s inspiration from everything and everywhere, art, culture, architecture, nature, London and his hometown New York City. His transatlantic style is truly well evident throughout his womenswear collections.

In 2011 Shaun received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Northumbria in the UK and was inducted into CFDA Council of Fashion Designers of America. Today Shaun is currently consulting for some of the biggest brand names in the fashion industry.
